Place & Manner of Miner’s Death:   Joseph was killed in a mine accident on April 28,1943, while employed as an electrician for the Gaylord Coal Company in Plymouth. While repairing a fan that would bring air into the mine, he was pulled into the fan and suffered a fractured skull, compound fractures of both arms, and shock.
