Stephen married Anna Porada in St. John Nepomocene Church in Luzerne, PA , and the couple were lifelong members of the parish. They had four children. Stephen continued working in the mines for many years and lived in Luzerne for the rest of his life. In the late 1950's, he suffered a serious injury to his leg and hip when there was a rock fall in the Harry E Mine. The injury ended his mining career. Eventually, he saved enough money to bring his wife and 3 children to the US in 1926. Michael worked in the Huber Colliery in Wilkes-Barre.
