My father worked in various mines in the Ashley and Nanticoke area during the 1950's to early 1960's. He worked below ground for the majority of his work experience. His older brother, Edmund Stabulis, also worked in various mines for all his adult life and later developed Black Lung. My father, Thomas, was fortunate to find other work and did not suffer from Black Lung.
