Worked in the Gaylord mine in Plymouth, PA. Cornelius (Con) Dwyer was a well known miner in Plymouth and surrounding towns, having moved to the area some thirty years before. In his occupation as a miner and contractor he had made considerable money in the mines. While he was loading a car in the Gaylord mine in Plymouth, a mass of rock weighing several hundred pounds fell upon him and broke his back. The physicians in attendance said that he might live for some time, but they were unable to ascertain how badly he was injured internally. After much suffering he died after two days from his injuries. He was 50 years old at the time of his death and was survived by his wife and seven children. His funeral took place with services in St. Vincent's Church, with internment in the Welsh Hill Cemetery.
