He worked long, hard hours in the mines throughout the area. It wasn't an easy job but, having no education, he did his best to keep a family of 3 daughters and a wife fed, clothed, and with a roof over our heads. He loved his church, Ss. Peter and Paul's and his country. He also loved putting on a white shirt and a tie and going to the Polish Club on Martin St. in Hudson every Sunday. That was his day out. He gave up the mines due to lung disease. He fought long and hard for his disability benefits, thanks to Dan Flood, who was a champion of miners. Nick's last words when he died were "Tell everyone I love them."
