Michael Joseph Donelan was an immigrant from Ireland who came to the United States via Ellis Island. The exact date of his arrival is not known, but it is estimated to be in the early 1900s. Michael resided at 2109 Price St., Scranton, Pennsylvania, with his wife, the former Mary Gillespie, and their four children: Joseph, John, Martin, and Catherine. Sadly, Michael Joseph was killed in a roof cave in which occurred in the Sloan mine of the Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad on February 19, 1921, and did not live to see the birth of his fifth child, Thomas.
