He lived as a boarder on brown row in Wanamee, PA. He served in the army in WWI in France. He loved America and all things patriotic and became a citizen as soon as possible. Very tall and thin, he was nick-named "Big Mike". He loved children and they loved him. He always had a nickel for them and would take them for rides in his car. He did not marry until he was almost 40. He invested his money in property because there was no insurance, and property was safe. After he married, he moved to Kingston to a completely decorated new apartment house. He knew he was older than his wife and she would always have income from the property. Two children were born and died shortly after birth. His wife was pregnant with what would be their only child when he died. He had a complete military funeral. He never denied his heritage, but loved the country that made him a man.
