Place & Manner of Miner’s Death: He was backing up a train in Sugar Notch PA. He stuck his head out of the cab so he could see better. His head struck some trestling that was out of place, crushing his skull and broke his neck. He was killed instantly. They cleaned his wounds and brought him home to his wife and two sons.
